Getting back into writing

I don’t even know where to start.

My life has been an endless struggle for the past year. Making it nearly impossible for me to feel good enough to write. I just want to write about the things I’ve had to do to get myself to write again.

Lets start with the first step.

1. Find a comfortable spot.

I’ve been struggling with homeless-ness for almost a year now it feels like. So it’s easy to say that finding a space to write is not easy for me. Write now I’m at a family friends place but often times I have to find places like libraries, restaurants or coffee shops to write in. Couches are cozy though ^.^

2. Find something you want to write about

I know some of my RP friends like to write their own fictional stories. Most of my writing is a stream of consciousness. I do like to RP in games sometimes but I’ve never been much of a story writer. At the end of the day you need to either do what you know or practice other forms of writing. I like to also do a little bit of poetry/song writing but nothing I feel is worth posting up xD

3. Don’t stop writing mid page

This isn’t a totally serious rule as much as it is a little guide line. I get really easily distracted by things and if I get off of my computer (where I try to do most of my writing) I’ll completely forget what was the train of thought that I had when I was previously writing. I find that if I sit down and fully commit to a page I can get more writing done in a single sitting than I would if I had stopped and come back to it later.

4. Turn off all distractions

I literally just got distracted with a MichealMJD video I had running in the background. Don’t try to watch YouTube while you write. (maybe play some lofi)

5. Post your stuff up online

Another thing you don’t actually have to do but sometimes getting criticism helps a lot. That’s why I’ll be posting this up on my website. (Not that anyone reads this stuff anyway)

Update 12/29/2022

I made this in libre office and the code is just a mess xD

My next article will be writen in nano or within the neocities editor itself. It seems that Writer adds in it's own CSS to keep the document looking the same way it does in the editor. I would prefer the freedom of having it look what ever way the browser feels like rendering it as. I'll probably begin to use the home page as a template since it's already got tables and it's got my links. It's either that or rewrite it from scratch in every page.

Update 12/31/2022

This should hopefully be the last time I update this. Ran it through w3's validator and removed a bunch of code that Writer added into the header. On the upside I'm actually learning how to manipulate CSS ^.^

Update 1/1/2023

Still messing with this today. This one is really interesting because now that I know a little bit of CSS I can mess around with what was already predefind by LibreOffice. I kinda like the width that it's at but I'm trying to figure out how to make it center off. As well as changing the look to make it more like the rest of my site. I could just delete everything that was writting into the style tag but where is the fun in that.
